Bayley - Little Man in Charge

(formerly Bay) My Mom had two rottweilers that she loved very much but they got old and sick and then died this summer. My Mom was very sad. Then she decided to rescue a mini schnauzer because she had always loved little schnauzers. Several of her friends had mini schnauzers and my Mom thought they were so cute. She liked their personalities a lot. A big dog attitude in a little dog body.

She found MSRH and then saw my picture. She also saw some other little guys just as cute but after she drove 3 1/2 hours to see all of us she thought I was the cutest. So I got to go home with her. On the way home we stopped off at the Pet Store and she bought me a new car seat, new harness, new leash and my favorite food. Wow!!!! What a Mom! I've only been at her house less than a day but she is totally smitten with me. What's not to love. I'm a lover boy. Sweet disposition, not a barker, I follow her everywhere.

She has a big back yard with lots of squirrels to chase and exotic animals to look at in the wildlife sanctuary right out her back door. This is sooooo cool. I'm so happy and my Mom is too. She isn't so sad anymore. Our next adventure is travel. She is getting me ready to go on our next trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wow! A new Mom, a new house and then traveling. Stay tuned for our adventures.

Macey - Formerly Lacey

Our story starts 5 years ago…When we stopped on the side of the road to look at puppies that were for sale and saw the cutest little gray puppy ever! What can I say...It was love at first sight, and we knew she had to be a part of our family! We scooped up that THREE pound ball of energy (Mallory) and took her home!

Fast forward five years, and Mallory found herself the only furry child left in the house. We had lost both of her Rottie sisters, one to old age, and the other to genetic health issues this past June. It was a sad house and Mallory was very lonely. Thanks to Mallory we fell in love with the Mini Schnauzer breed, and decided adopting was the way to go. I found MSRH and began looking at the available dogs. We were in the middle of having a pool built and didn't want to bring a new dog home until that mess was over. I switched my search over to the "Waiting In The Wings" section and saw Lacey (we've changed her name to Macey). Once again, it was love at first sight…What is it about this breed!?!

I filled out the application, and was approved, before I even told my husband and daughter about her. That night at dinner I showed them her picture and they asked what we needed to do to adopt her...I told them it was already done. We only had one hurdle; she was heartworm positive. Her treatment scheduled worked nicely with our plans. She would be finished, and ready to come home, about the same time our pool was completed. It was all so perfect; except for one thing…I couldn't stand the thought of her being in a kennel, all alone, while she went through the treatments. I made arrangements with Donna to bring her home after her first treatment and take care of her until she was finished.

We took Macey home on August 9th, 2013. I didn't want to blog about her until she was cleared from the vet. We got the all clear last week, and she's finally been able to really play with Mallory! This makes for two very happy Mini's in our house!

Macey is such a live wire, and so darn loveable! She loves having toys to play with, running in the yard, checking out the pool, sleeping on the human beds (upstairs and downstairs), and following her big sister Mallory everywhere. Oh yeah, and eating, she LOVES eating! Mallory's adjustment from little sister to big sister has gone very smoothly. She's showing Macey all the best places in the backyard for sniffing, and which neighboring yards have dogs that need to be kept in line! She even lets Macey use her as a pillow, she doesn't love that part of having a little sister, but she deals with it. Macey's antics have Mallory acting like a puppy again, and the laughter has returned to our house. She's keeping all of us on our toes (mostly because we're still working on the house training, good thing the downstairs is all tile!) and we are over the moon in love with her!

Thank you, MSRH, for taking care of her until she found her way to us!! We think you should make the MSRH slogan "Hakuna Matata". Because that's what happens when a Mini Schnauzer is lucky enough to make it to the MSRH doorstep…No more worries for the rest of their days!

Love,
The Sorensens
Randy, Christine, Kayleigh, Mallory and Macey!
